Development of embankments of the River Moskva —
is a mega‑project, the purpose of which is to create a linear city center with equally high quality of urban environment, public spaces and improvement throughout its entire length. One of the main objectives of the project is formation of pedestrian and cycling routes throughout the entire length of the River Moskva.

In 2014, the Government of Moscow initiated a project of urban planning development of embankments of the River Moskva in order to launch new scenarios of urban life, create a single linear center with equally high quality throughout its entire length.
Since 2016 State Research and Design Institute for Urban Development of the city of Moscow has been appointed a single city operator for the purpose of implementing the Concept of urban development of embankments of the River Moskva.
In mid-2018, State Research and Design Institute for Urban Development of the city of Moscow initiated a «My River» pilot project on interaction with the leading universities of the Russian Federation in order to popularize the development of territories adjacent to the River Moskva.
